About Me:
Still a pretty persistent builder! Nothing's changed much over the past few days, I'm still very interested in redstone and the capabilities that it offers. However I've been informed about the limitations of the server regarding active redstone components lagging the server, so I shall try to limit the size of my redstone builds as much as possible. I may also add that I am quite an active player on the server, as one may find me playing almost all the time. At the moment I am also trying out what it's like to be a faction leader, and help out my members as much as I can. I would say that I'm a hoarder by nature, as I store up rather huge quantities of everything useful, so that I may be more willing to give some of it to others who need help.
Why I deserve the rank:
I think I have been a rather determined person when it comes to builds, and really accomplished major projects that others think are utter madness. Examples would include digging out 3 chunks with a 7 block border all the way down to bedrock level for the slime farm, and creating the 150-diameter halfsphere that is the Deathstar. This is mostly due to the great amount of time I have on my hands. Additionally, I would daringly claim that I have been a very helpful person on the server, as I've given countless amounts of different resources from my hoard to many many people so far, however I'd like to recommend that everyone do their part to try to obtain whatever they need first before asking others for help.
BUILDS
> DEATH STAR
The 150-block diameter half-sphere that is the foundation of our faction's base, nicknamed by ScoobySharky as the "Death Star" from Star Wars. The design isn't going to be similar, though. Sorry to disappoint.
Slime elevator for one level. There shall be 7 of these going up to the seperate floors.
> MANUAL SLIME FARM
The 3 chunks were dug down to bedrock, with a 7-wide border. This is to allow the server to calculate the sub-chunks quicker without obstruction and delay, and this allegedly increases the rates of the slimes spawning.
> AUTOMATIC IRON FARM
The design is fully automatic, which is now not allowed. However most of the module can be retained, and up to 7 more modules may be placed in the area to further increase the rates of the iron golems spawning. The lava can be redesigned such that it dispenses for a certain amount of time using a redstone clock, so that the player can easily kill the golems with 1 hit.
> SEMIAUTOMATIC COW FARM
Button is pushed to release a lava blade, providing cooked steak and leather.
And again, in regards to the statements below:
> Your comprehensive ability to cope with problems on this server.
The new ban on automatic farms require me to think up of more innovative redesigns for the farms I already have. For example, I could implement the use of flying machines to push the slimes towards me (since water canals aren't really effective), but redstone lag has to be taken in consideration. Other than that, I really can't think of any other problems on this server! Mob cap has been removed, new players are continually being attracted to this server, everyone's still generally friendly.
> How much you know about this game.
From my experience now, I think I am rather knowledgable about the technical sides of Minecraft, and how to boost effectiveness and productivity on farms. However, I still have a lot of learning to do with regards to redstone and aesthetic designs of houses (as of now, the temporary house that our faction is using, built by Terra, is in my opinion extremely pretty). I'll do my best to learn as much as I can!
Why do I need /fly for (Only for Adept & above):
Personally I don't really like the concept of /fly being enabled for players in the server, as it makes the usage of Elytra redundant and also makes it too easy in terms of transportation, mobility, scouting and many other aspects of the game, such that it almost feels like cheating. On the other hand, /fly is really really important in regards to constructing super huge contraptions or bases. In the example of my Death Star, I've plans to decorate the upper rim of the half-sphere, however it is rather frustrating to do as I constantly miss my step and plummet to my death. Also, it requires a great deal of scaffolding blocks to be put in place first, which also have to be removed afterwards. In conclusion, I'd say I'll try to limit my usage of fly as much as I can, but most probably I'll just utilise it for convenience's sake.
Last words (optional): Remember when I said there weren't any other problems on the server? Well, there's an issue I'd like to highlight, but something that I as a person cannot solve myself. I have noticed that there are generally a lot of people begging for resources, even when they are easily obtainable, rather than going to get it themselves. And also, there are a few very old players that are very quiet and don't interact much with the general community. What I'd like to suggest is a Favors system, such that new players are able to ask for a large but limited number of favors to start them off in the server, and as they become older players they shall have less favors, while on the other hand the rather old players shall be obliged to help out the new players and gain Favors in order to get rewards, or a promotion in rank. This would promote friendliness and community bonding in the server, in my opinion... Just a suggestion from my observations.
